JL - Pitch

On Monday 12th October we had to pitch our idea to the class. This is our presentation:

Slide 3
Album covers are colourful, summer, beach, retro, comic, cartoony, instruments, not many photos

Slide 4
Humorous, they’re not serious in their music videos, parody of boy bands and copy what rappers do like Jay Z[pic]. Costumes: in their videos we saw someone dressed as a beer bottle so we are gonna get a gorilla suit and banana suit.

Slide 5
Most cuts don’t last one second, in tempo with the song. 40% of meat shots.

Slide 6
19/21 people said sunny weather (90%), When we asked what colours they associated with this track these were the responses. Colours such as yellow/orange / blue / red were most popular. This told us that colour played an important role in our video and we will wear brightly coloured clothes.

Slide 7
Beach was deemed the most suitable location followed by Park and Fields… Inside house was quite popular so we have decided to add this in.

Slide 8
We have a parallel narrative, a love story of a boy chasing a girl and another side story of a gorilla chasing a banana as filler shots and to add a parody/comedic effect.

Slide 9
These costumes match conventions of videos.

Slide 14
This is an idea for an album cover, has the name / single name. colourful, cartoony.

  1. Evaluation of Pitch

Our pitch gained good response but we didn’t send our message across very clear so people showed some confusion about our narrative. The meant that we had to have a chat with the teachers so that we could perfects our narrative so it was more clear and easy to do. We did not write about a plan B in our pitch. Our plan A involves a beach but because of a big problem of weather it may not be able to be done. We had to explain later about our plan B involving an indoor area such as a house instead of beach. From our pitch we learnt that we had only had a rough idea of what we wanted to do, but we didn’t have the fine details down and we needed to get that sorted out.

  2. Ok Justin, however a very visually pleasing pitch and I am confident you know what you are doing
